Accent and pronunciation issues have always been an obstacle for learners of English, and I think it's not a serious issue, just as internet memes mocking British pronunciation are partly a result of human influence, It's overblown. My teachers used to emphasize the difference between "British" and "American" English and correct us on our Chinglish, but luckily, a lot of schools emphasize English but don't actually test students' speaking skills at all🤷‍♂️
