Hard to train people to detect bullshit when you want them to buy into your bullshit and I suspect that’s who a lot of people were trained for life by. I’m not just talking about government employees in government indoctrination centers either.

It’s also possible that it’s something that can’t be taught by anything other than falling for it for a lot of people.

The problem is worse than people here realize

Nostr users are mostly too gullible to know there's a dangerous airborne pandemic happening

Pandemic-aware people are mostly too gullible to know nostr is essential to survival

Even groups full of people seeing through one bit of bullshit are unable to see through another major thing even when the stakes are worldwide day to day shit impacting billions of lives

Or... most news is unnecessary and designed to influence you to act in ways you wouldn't otherwise

Or... Sushi is japanese

What the fuck are you talking about? "Or" is supposed to be the word you put before the next option in a set of choices, not some random thing you're trying to change the subject to

You changed the subject to pandemics

So you're used to people so gullible you can just deflect like that? Funny, I just used your attempt at derailment to segue right back into how gullible you are

Your feminine anger is noted

I'm a man, son. Misogyny isn't gonna work on me

You think you are

Nah son I'm purebred, two Y chromosomes

Fixed it/edit:

The problem is most living people have never been trained to detect bullshit.

I used to wonder how Adam and Eve were so stupid. They had only one law to keep. They were free to do everything else, but they fell for Satan's temptations, seemingly on the first try.

I finally gave them a little mercy when I realized they fell for the first lie ever told. We are used to being lied to continually, so the wiser of us, checks every statement to see if it is a lie. A person who had never heard a lie before would be much more likely to fall for a lie than those who know they need to be on the defense at all times.

The government schools teach people to blindly obey and trust authorities, so people don't learn to keep a watchful eye for lies. It is infuriating, but maybe a little more mercy is called for.
