That was also going through my head when I heard the story. Who knows? Nowadays I'm constantly asking myself about so many things if it's a deception or are they just incompetent. I remember a time, when they were deceiving you they wouldn't let themselves look like complete morons.
Exactly. They are incompetent to the point you ask yourself if they really are that incompetent or it is a trick.
