Bisq Easy Mobile App β€” User Survey

We are developing Bisq Easy mobile applications and would like to better understand your needs.

Your feedback will help us optimize resource allocation and deployment strategy.

---

Bisq Easy mobile apps will come in two modes:

- Full Node Mode (Android only): Runs a full Bisq node directly on the device, connects over Tor, follows the same P2P network model as the desktop app, requires higher CPU, memory, and battery resources.

- Light Client Mode (Android and iOS): A lightweight app that acts as a remote control for a hosted Bisq node, with minimal resource usage and no P2P networking on the mobile device itself.

---

Why no mobile support for Bisq 1 MultiSig protocol?

Resource demands and the need for makers to stay online make it impractical for mobile use.

Bisq 1 will be replaced by Bisq 2 MuSig, offering better privacy and efficiency.

However, even with MuSig, Full Node operation on mobile remains infeasible; only Light Client mode is realistic.

---

Why Full Node mode is Android-only?

Bisq is written in Java, which runs natively on Android but not on iOS.

Rewriting the full node for iOS in Swift would require substantial effort.

Additionally, Apple's restrictive App Store policies and Tor challenges on iOS make such an investment high risk.

---

Why two modes?

This two-mode approach ensures that both advanced and casual users are supported, giving users flexibility to prioritize privacy, decentralization, or usability.

It also provides a feasible model to support a mobile experience on iOS.

Can't send zafs to this note.

Why not bisq 2 app, this means the app will only facilitate easy trades without seurity deposits?

Can't zap this note.

I recommend that you get a lightning address... not for funding, but because zaps help discoverability on Nostr.

A highly zapped note shows up everywhere.

For example my second most used feed is "most zapped notes in last 24 hrs".

if you're being scammed by someone and you want to track them or someone else hack your account, and you need to recover your account, you can contact jbee spy team on via email conleyjbeespy606@gmail.com, or telegram +πŸ’πŸ’ πŸ•πŸ’πŸ“πŸ” πŸŽπŸ“πŸ–πŸ”πŸπŸŽ or on Instagram, they help me a lot so I'm returning the Favor by recommending this to those who need help with the same situation https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/d66382636aee2a34e4bdc67d565aae58d6e50e0d374b7d6a043c08d05ba8d120/7a277e45b93804c364d15d3768cefa3ee4d3b136a13f46a28786ee43f9349037.webp

retoswap is eating your lunch and you're over here asking pointless questions like "um guys do you wanna have a cell phone app that can't do half of the stuff?"

rearrange your roadmap to prioritize replicating existing bisq 1 features into bisq 2, then sunset bisq 1, then start thinking about the frivolous stuff that doesn't have enough demand. you are treating your biggest customer base like they don't exist and the market is punishing you for it.

They haven't had any competition until now, and now that they do have competition that's coming to murder them, they have to hurry the fuck up or get left behind.

Yes this. I know a few people like myself have tried Bisq 2 only to revert to Bisq1.

Bisq is a great project, and it is good to see y’all solicit feedback.

Last time I tried to use Bisq it was a rough experience. Consider getting design/UI/UX cold eyes review.

I am not sure what the long term goals are for Bisq. If it is moving closer to a mass market solution, running a node is unlikely to work.

If you don’t know an uncle Jim, and are not running a full node how are you supposed to run Bisq?

What persona(s) is Bisq building for?
