Cool. I’ve been thinking of moving mine to my node too. Can you let us know how it goes?
Good luck. I tried that for a while and my node would lose connection with the miner about once a day and stop hashing. Make sure you check your stats fairly regularly until you know it's stable.
Looking good so far. My bitaxe was constantly disconnecting from public-pool.io. It hasn't 
dropped once since I connected to my own node last night 😎👌
