Cloudflare reported a threefold increase in cyberattacks targeting organizations under its Project Galileo, which protects nonprofits in arts, human rights, and journalism. From May 2024 to March 2025, it blocked 108.9 billion attacks, mostly Layer 7 DDoS, SQL injection, and XSS. Journalists faced 97 billion attacks, often from state-pressured outlets in Russia and Belarus.
