Why are people happy the mempool cleared? We need adaption in #bitcoin right? This does not like a sustainable future? #asknostr

I can not remember to see such an empty mempool. Wow!

I like empty mempools!

If this should be our security budget when block rewards end….

We have like 100 years for the security budget to get to 1 satoshi.

Love your explanation. But for me an empty mempool feels like we are failing on the adoption part of #bitcoin. This is our security budget. An empty mempool is bad for mining…

I hear you.

In theory: Low fees + empty mempool = less incentive for miners.

Long-term, that could mean weaker security if miners can’t cover costs.

I get that.

Yet most miners are mining at a huge profit regardless of the fees. And this happening while the price of bitcoin continues going up is gonna always be incentivising miners to mine.

With everything going on etfs, btc above 100k, Trump, you would expect more activity on the chain. Not an empty mempool. Let’s see what the future holds!

Bc it’s transitory and similar to price dips - take advantage of it while it lasts if you can, and don’t panic

Not panicking at all, consolidating utxos right now 😄 but thinking about the tweets on X I saw years ago of people saying we will never see an empty mempool again. With btc above 100k, etfs and everything. It feels like we should have move activity on the chain than ever.

Well… it kind of makes sense. Everybody who was willing to take his coins of exchanges probably did that earlier.

Exchange itself and ETFs are running or IOUs and until really big happens, they don’t need to ship coins elsewhere.

I agree that it’s not a good thing, but so far I am not willing to lose my shit over it. It’s been like a few dozens blocks?

Agree! Good time to consolidate utxos. But not a thing to forget in the future 😄

If you have some transactions you've been waiting to do until fees were back to 1 sat/vbyte, then you are loving this.

As others have mentioned, the mempools fluctuate when it comes to transactions waiting to clear. This won't last. Transaction demand will go up again before long and fees along with it.

The mempool is a ghost town. No activity.
