I believe that in the Freedom Tech space, Linux is one of the most important things. Below is a series of points about it:
what it is,
why Linux, the most wellβknown distributions and their strengths and applications,
what to keep in mind (Linux isnβt automatically more secure, and privacy can be compromised by wrong settings or packages).
Thereβs much more that could be covered.
I am not sure you could/should classify it as freedom tech. But AI is a technology that can help in Knowhow and efficiency. Most of the people do not know how to self host or do not have the money to buy the mandatory gpu. Small modells are great but.. there are usecases you need the big ones.
Proton has a new cloud AI, maybe a small topic
Unfortunately the api is missing (f.e. IDE connection)
How do you create a solid inheritance plan for your loved ones who do have a high tech knowledge and don't want to rely on a 3rd party like Nunchuk or Bitcoin Keeper?
Multisig wallets are a good option but can lead to a complex setup. I wonder what other clever options are out there that I did not think of yet?
What is a good Passphrase lenght?
Should I treat it like an important password (approx. 20 characters, letters and numbers or something like the EFF diceword list).
Good one, thank you!
I'm always thinking about what tools there are to allow individuals to understand their blockchain transactional history. Are you aware that these tools exist? Can an individual take part in their own blockchain analysis and are there tools to interpret the results in a meaningful way?
AWESOME question, thank you!

I'm an advocate for #GrapheneOS and was concerned lately with how the Alphabet soup moved the goal posts with regards to AOSP and Pixels. The team at #GrapheneOS seem to have overcome this but have you any insight into their stance on a bespoke OEM device? If you do, spill son
Good question! nostr:npub1235tem4hfn34edqh8hxfja9amty73998f0eagnuu4zm423s9e8ksdg0ht5
We have been in talks with a major device OEM to have their next-generation devices provide official support for GrapheneOS by meeting our requirements. This current initiative has been happening for the past few months now.
Providing this goes through, this should be a year or two from now. We haven't said who we are working with yet though. You just have to give our word that they're well-known.
Having a device other than Pixels has always been a goal, but not having a device that does less than them.
Do whatever else you want want with the hardware but please at least add an SD card slot. It is the minimal requirements I have
This is about supporting GrapheneOS on their next generation devices, which they have already decided on what it will have. From what I know we don't have the influence on such matters and I don't know if their device does or does not. Not a lot of things we can say right now (and even if we could it would be ill-advised)
3.5mm audio jack ports. oofff. π haha
So Monero suffered an attack. How insecure does that make it? Will this kick the Bitcoin devs into taking privacy seriously or are they more intent on bickering with the speedy junior ego? Or are they just afraid that the feds will come after them?
Chat control in the EU and alternatives with signal, simplex, whitenoise, bitchat...
Maybe in relation to this, mesh communications and how do they work, optimal path finding and things like that
What is an XMRchat and how do I use it?
