0.70.7 if you can use the APK. Otherwise, just wait from the PlayStore/Fdroid/Obtainium.

I downloaded the APK, before I dl Google Play version, this time FDroid

Is the Fdroid same as Gplay?

not really, the F-Droid version does not have any Google framework, so it does not support Notifications and automatic translations.

I used android's base64.encode instead of base64.encodeToString function.

I meant what was the bug from a user perspective, what broke? DMs posted unencrypted?

You would write a message and the message would not be able to be decrypted. Message would be lost.
