i've started seeing a strange thing with my work on the multi-social-network aggregator today:

nostr follow events with only one follow... if you look closely, it appeaers that every single one of these is a different npub and follows only one person

dis you manufacturing followers?

someone is experimenting with how to break WoT i suppose lol

if i was doing it, i'd make a whole bunch, and have them all follow each other in a tangled web, 3000 bots, each following 2999 others

then i'd find some popular content from somewhere else and prop up like 20 of these bots to be "leaders" and repost content from some other users, probably fake profiles that copy the real ones even, then you can use this swarm of bots to fool WoT users into thinking these are a rather popular bunch and read all their plagiarised content except with phishing links inserted where the original posts had legit content, and redirect people to fake versions of those pages that are bristling with exploits on common browser extension vulnerabilities

oh it's coming tho... gonna be a cold bucket of water in the face for some i think

Isn’t this exactly why wot failed with normal websites?

it's a clear vulnerability, and how it might come to be necessary for other things, but i think combined with nip-05 and attestation services it only has limited effect...

it will help though, for sure, and it definitely lowers the cost of spam filtering for most cases

It could possibly work as part of a layered system

probably nostr:npub12262qa4uhw7u8gdwlgmntqtv7aye8vdcmvszkqwgs0zchel6mz7s6cgrkj he loves breaking stuff. I even considered that he might be running the reply thing to make a point.

nah, it is already obvious that it's nostr:nprofile1qyv8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtngv9mhg6t9wvh8s7t69uq3wamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwwpexjmtpdshxuet59uqsuamnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0dshsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjme0qqsyh3uc938wgput9td9xs9wvul335ak5ejtr7t734nenes8fj6u88gzqtgc8 because every single one of those single p tagged events has his npub hex on it

he's a joker but not really a trickster i think

I mean, I can be both depending on the advesary .....

it was kinda funny that i spotted it in my feed though, i mean, i was just pulling new events and i had noticed your activity onset from your GM post but it was quite funny, i saw all these one npub follows and checked to see they were all the same then plugged the hex into nostrudel to find out who it was and there you were

i'm sure replyguy's progenitor is also just messing around to poke at the system

i think it's good... nostr is unbelievably peaceful and tranquil, almost opiated in its lack of mischief, or like it's some mystical blessed gathering place holy ground where the vampires fear to tread

not healthy to have no challenges, if you don't have stumbling blocks, go knock some walls down

Oh I love poking at this protocol with a stick, that's why I'm here! Far more fun than other yawner soshul media sites where no Pandora's boxes to open.

followed 😆

i had spotted him around here and there for some time but after following him and watching his hilarious musings i literally saw his handywork in the nostr events streaming into the aggregator i was building and ... well... i hope he can keep poking sticks at this protocol

This was my first thought 💭 and it probably be true.

A few month ago somebody said that he created a million accounts on nostr and made them all follow him

Just to have a million follower on nostr!

But I can´t remember his name....

I'll bet anything it's the kikes
