Because aluminum is so great.
I don't know of any non alcoholic beer producers who use any other packaging and that is the only thing I drink out of cans.
One more reason not to drink anything from a can, but it’s not good to drink Coke anyway.

Its typically an epoxy or polymer, to prevent the contents from interacting with the aluminum. It provides corrosion prevention and stops the aluminum from leaching into the liquid.
