There is no quick & easy replacement for the money creators make from YouTube, X, etc., when that money comes from ad revenue. That’s because your viewers are not the customer, but rather the your customer is the platform and advertisers. You, as the content creator, are ultimately serving them, not your audience. As long as you’re dependent on that customer for income, they own you and can control you.

V4V is the better way for sure 💜🫂 My point is that for creators on platforms like YouTube, they can’t simply replace that income from ad revenue by switching to a V4V model. It’s the risk they take by making themselves reliant on it in the first place. I don’t think they take the time to think about all this though. As long as they see dollars coming into their bank account, they think all is good, not realizing they’ve sold out their audience to an advertising cartel.

If you’re not paying for the service (free videos on YT) then you are the product (eyeballs for advertisers). If you’re being paid by the service (content creators) it’s because you bring more eyeballs to the advertisers. How is this not common knowledge? It’s the basis of their entire business model.

Ads run everything. Even good faith one on your favorite podcasts.

We need the small guys that aren't even making money on Platforms to start embracing the new models and build from there. Not saying it has to be V4V (although I think thats the way) but being able to get rugged is crazy. Bitcoiners use Big Tech Platform, get banned and then cry about. They get let back in and nothing changes.

Even if you never got banned you still know its possible and are self-censoring because of it.

Listen to me

Primal but it's a tiktok/shorts clone instead of a twitter clone.

Algorithms and free media hosting for short videos.

No advertisements is the selling point.

Focus on introducing the app to popular independent journalists and content creators, they will on board their followers.
