Are you saying this happens with no on chain transfer and it always works rapidly (like 10 minutes at worst) on command?

Open a channel on Zeus
Write down your seed phrase
And fund your channel with sats …
That’s self custody lightning ⚡️
Then if for whatever reason the channel gets closed( either by you or you peer) those sats go on chain to the address that you have the seed phrase for
If one of your lightning channels closes the sats are sent to the on-chain address associated with your wallet.
Having your own lightning ⚡️ channels used to be difficult
Now with things like breeze or Zeus… a node is running on your phone.
You can open and close channels with ease.
I’m a cold storage maxi to be clear. I wouldn’t want large amounts necessary in lightning channels .
But it can be self custody with lightning.
