Author Simona Rota, along with Cibrán Rico and Suso Vázquez Gómez, presents her photography book published by Fabulatorio in collaboration with La Kursala - University of Granada. This book accompanies the exhibition 'Ostalgia', held at the Kursala gallery from April 30 to June 30, 2013. Through photographs taken by her father, Teodor Kurz, in Romania during the 1970s and 1980s, Rota interrogates the nature of happiness, freedom, and the reality of life under the regime of the Socialist Republic of Romania. Although the images suggest a life of well-being, her father's narrative paints a scene of distrust and limitations. The book, awarded at PHotoEspaña 2014 and with the D&AD Award, has already sold out in its two editions, but it's available for free download in PDF ( https://extension.uca.es/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/11068.pdf ). The design was made by desescribir, with texts by Simona Rota and Teodor Kurz.
