The people of Iran are living under an authoritarian regime as well as visions US sanctions preventing families from sending money to and from each other.
Insane citizen tracking via bank accounts makes it extremely unsafe to move money in any way other than converting it to paper notes.
#bitcoin does not fix this.
And more plebs should be talking about that.
These are the people who need btc the most. And the regime has very effectively established roadblocks that make it extremely risky to send/receive sats.
I only use it for bitcoin related discussion.
And only know 1 person in real life who is interested in bitcoin enough to download nostr.
To me it’s not abt nostr needing to improve, it’s abt ppl not understanding btc

It is nearly impossible to convert the local currency to anything other than its cash form due to sanctions and regime restrictions.
It’s not a safe option to have any transaction in your bank history that would suggest transferring Iranian currency to usd / any sort of crypto exchange.

The issue here is transferring fiat out of the regimes fiat banking system.
The only truly private way is to take out cash and then convert that cash to btc.
