Whoops, wrong date! The Satoshi "identifed" documentary is Weds 10/9 (not the 10th, that's a Thurs). So...this is good...we find out who Satoshi is next Wednesday! cough, cough
#plebchain #bitcoin
I've written before something to the effect that, given the revolutionary impact of #bitcoin, the Satoshi identity might be the biggest mystery since...well, I'm not really sure since when. But, I feel bitcoin is the most revolutionary idea/invention in economics since Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations in 1776. Maybe it's the most revolutionary one ever because bitcoin is Adams' capitalism automated and auto-running, independent of man's whims and combining so many various intellectual fields (econ, math, comp sci, game theory, human psych, physics, sociology, politics and governance, more).

HBO evidently has a documentary coming out next Weds, 10/10 where they've "identified" Satoshi. We'll see.
I'll make my call right here:
- It'll be one of the usual suspects, my guess is either Nick Szabo or Wei Dai. I'ld guess Szabo.
- They'll offer up as "evidence" a document or email that has previously been unseen, something from early 2008, or even prior, referencing bitgold for Szabo or b-money for Dai.
- And that will be essentially the crux of it. There won't be a transaction signed by Satoshi's keys.
- I'll offer one wildcard prediction because it's fun. They might ID a science fiction author. I don't read sci-fi (maybe I should), but I understand that sci-fi authors almost always pre-write almost every innovation that's ever happened. I could see them referencing a bitcoinesque currency or idea in a sci-fi novel and them naming the author as Satoshi.
Got my popcorn ready! 🍿 (Now, if I only had HBO. 😃)

Well, that's better than being made in North Kareo.
It is 3, I just want to put in the Wei Dai emails that I wrote about on Stacker News. Call it 3.01. Hah.
Hey nostr:npub1qpdufhjpel94srm3ett2azgf49m9dp3n5nm2j0rt0l2mlmc3ux3qza082j I came across your post on nostr:npub1jfujw6llhq7wuvu5detycdsq5v5yqf56sgrdq8wlgrryx2a2p09svwm0gx which took me to the book you edited. I had a ‘read’ over the weekend. I say read because I had to skip most of the technical/coding parts. But it was so interesting to read how someone can think so deeply about something so technical from so many different angles. It’s so much better to read just the raw words rather than interpretation. Doesn’t seem like many ppl have read his writings. E.g 21 million is basically an educated guess. And everyone thinks it’s a mystery 😂 I’m gonna have to go over it again. Thanks so much for putting this together in a digestible format.🙏🙏🙏
P.s I think he’s British because he used the word ‘flat’ instead of apartment 🤷♂️ #bitcoin
I really appreciate your kind words. I really like the chronology of the thing. When you go through all of Satoshis words, the dates and times and how he interacted with others, you start to get a glimpse into his mind. Satoshi also seemed polite, clear, logical, oractical, and professional to me.
I'm currently working on tweaking out edition 3 with the Wei Dai stuff (that's my weekend plan). Then I'll get the links updated.
Well, that was a nice surprise. I did nothing (besides make a post or comment) and..."someone joined Stacker News because of you." I really don't know how or why! And I just looked, I earned 32 sats somehow! 😀
If you're not there yet, and you like #bitcoin or #nostr, you need to join Stacker News and you can earn sats also. Ref link: https://stacker.news/r/crrdlx

After push-mowing for an hour and 20 minutes, and with a van-sized patch of grass left to go, my mower starts surging...essentially out if gas. Darn, now I gotta, stop, go get the gas, refuel, put the gas back, restart the mower, just to finish one tiny splotch.
Oh no, its on! I start mowing in 2X mode, literally mowing in circles, get a bit dizzy. The surging gets worse so that I have only seconds before it goes conks out...
I sure it''s going to go kaput with only a twin size bed patch left to mow, and me huffing and dizzy...
I halt the circles and start zig zaggimg back and forth...
I get 'r done! Seconds to spare!
Celebrate small victories.
Two minutes later, I be like...

Just saw this reply. And, wow, for anyone who can adeptly answer all of those questions, I'll tip my cap. Amazing how much I learn from bitcoin, and such a wide range of things...math, econ, psych, tech, etc.
Anyone else zoom in and read?
"The soul it die not, see me, and in a manner I claim not to know."
Not sure on Black Mountain. Saw this today re: Waynesville. The creek I'd estimate is usually 20 feet lower than those buildings. https://www.themountaineer.com/news/frog-level-onlookers-watch-horrors-of-flood-unfold/article_01f88a24-7ce9-11ef-83c4-cbf5aebb463e.html

Also, please try to use relevant hashtags like #hamradio #radio or #meshtastic etc or tag with my user name nostr:npub1ya20ep3dd0qt0suhzprxztv5y43arqwps73ercvqa44sp7qw0edsp4x9ty . I like to repost and zap radio related content on nostr and the tags help me find it.
I'm not really any of these (I do have a old CB I use on occasion while traveling). But, this is stuff that interests me.
I'm not sure I follow, but the title "Kicking the Hornet’s Nest" is derived from Satoshi's quote (see page 490 of Kicking at https://crrdlx.vercel.app/kicking/Kicking_the_Hornets_Nest-e3-20240616.pdf). As far as knowing who Satoshi is, I used to think it would come out in time. Now, I'm starting to question that. I still think it will at some point, but maybe in decades from now.
A like from Wei Dai regarding early #bitcoin emails.

#coding #plebchain
It's a small #coding victory, but a big one for me as a hobbyist, ahem, "coder." I successfully made a tweak to my Hive-blockchain based "game" Wusang (World's Ultra Simple Assets Numbers Game). Celebrate the little things! 🏴☠️

At first glance I thought that was a 3.5 inch floppy disk beside the coffee (actually, the trackpad I see now). I thought, "Wow, that guy really is old school...love it!"
