Daily life of another software engineer talking about random things. Drop a DM if you want. :3

I don't recall the last New Year's Eve that I was so down about my future as this one.

I don't know if I failed my nation or it failed me. This 2025 is going to be a major shitshow here (Brazil). It's going to take a literal miracle to avoid what it's coming.

I really need to get my act together and move to Santiago, Chile. I have the resources, I have the right job that allows me to move somewhere else, I just need to convince myself once and for all to do it.

Every time I see my own government fucking up our currency, see my purchasing power going down the drain, and lots of people deluded about "not being affected by it" (and no, they are not based crypto owners, just IDIOTS) laughing about it, while 60% of the population suffer and live of social assistance... I realize this is a sinking ship, and maybe not even worth of my effort to help keeping it afloat.

Seriously, I'm about to give up on Brazil.

Any thoughts on Ziglang, anyone? I gave up on Ada. It's nice and all, but without momentum and passionate community, I don't see it going anywhere anymore.

Now, Zig... this one looks to be very much alive and well.

Merry Christmas everybody!!! 🎄🎁

Finally got fed up with facebook app on my android device and imploded it once and for all.

Serious, it's so garbage that it don't even respect their own setting to open link on a external browser instead of their garbage and annoying internal one.

Android seriously should consider banning apps that are not browser to contain a browser upon itself.

I love #Simplex, it has potential, but it really needs a shorter way to share your contact that is not a qr code.

Unless something is not working, I don't think so. To be fair, I only update these days out of inercia, not really due a need. Long gone are the days that I had hardware incompatibilities with Linux.

You may be glad to know that the kernel from below is now an official release.

All hail the Linux Kernel 6.6.66!!

That's tough. I hope that you stay safe until this is over with the best outcome possible. Even on videos these shaheds sounds dreadful, I barely can imagine what they sound in person.

I noticed a surge on nations providing all sorts of defense systems for export lately. Definitely the world isn't going to a nice place. 🫤

From an UI perspective, I find Win2k so much more nicer than anything before and even after it in the Windows lineup. The first time that I did run it coming from Win98 was kind of a shock to me back in the day.

I love home office, but when you neighbor chooses to renovate his place, it quickly becomes a frustrating experience.

Meanwhile, all other manufacturers going in the opposite direction and soldering even the storage on their laptops now. Disgusting. 😡

I do love my Prusa mk3s, it's a real work horse. I printed to much on it that's a miracle that it didn't had a single breakdown so far.

Maybe I will upgrade it to mk3.9.
