There's anyone alive that still uses RSS feeds and news aggregators?
I feel old to still install RSS Guard at my desktop.
Oh well... another valentine's incoming, and another one that I will go thru alone.
That sucks.
We all love a full moon peeking through the clouds at night.

Oh... I was not even aware that YouTube had this feature.
Forgive me father, for I have sinned... I confess that I have been using X a lot more than here. By far.
I feel that I'm giving away my freedom. This is bad. But most furry artists and tech enthusiasts that I follow are there. =(
Lunchtime!!
Chicken breast, parmesan cheese, tortilla, carrots, onion, and a few seasonings. And 10 minutes on an airfryer.

Ele está aprendendo o que é ser humano. Já tem até cor de um agora. Talvez até tome água pra valer.
Just saw an overhead line cargo truck... man, what a strange thing.
The concept is nice, but it looks very, very, odd.
If you don't have a idea of what I'm talking about, it's that: https://youtu.be/kVYIuxktpag?si=BGwX2Xqs7_xVZ3bP

Georgian businesses and employees to carry out nationwide strike demanding new elections https://benborges.xyz/2025/01/05/georgian-businesses-and-employees-to.html
Yeah, this is going to be worth watching closely.
No repressions, at least not overtly. So far, it's taking shape as an asymmetrical juridical rulings by our courts, with posts on social media begin treated as a "crime" worse than armed robbery, for example, and "fake news" being prosecuted with full state power against perpetrators, usually only if done by people not aligned with the government.
Also, attempts to infiltrate with political nominees for roles traditionally relegated to technical personal inside state companies and institutions, with the consequential increase in corruption cases and misuse of these state apparatuses in the name of a political party instead of state.
If it is to imagine an authoritarianism scale, present day Brazil is heading towards what Hungary is under Orbán. Far from the likes of Russia, but degrading quickly.
Aaaaaaand, is 2025 now here.
Happy New Year!!! 🎆
Taiwan did well this year too!!! Nice show!
So far, London and Austraia did the best shows.
One hour to go here!
Now doing my New Year's Eve tradition.: watching YouTube of all the fireworks on places that are already in 2025.
Here, a hour and a half to go. =)
I posted that more as a knee jerk reaction to a general hopeless feeling. A sense of concern and uncertainty seems to be growing here.
Discussions around censorship have emerged, discussions about controlling the internet, the president's party appears to be aligning with authoritarian interests, and our political system is becoming more and more oligarchical. This has led to a resurgence of corruption, frequent tax increases without improvements in public services, a rapidly devaluing currency, and rising inflation. Violence is completely out of control, more people got killed here last year than most of northern hemisphere summed.
The judiciary, with members appointed by our current president, is overstepping the Legislative authority. The government is undermining statistical credibility as if lying about it would make people feel better about inflation and purchasing power eroding, and civil society is becoming increasingly apathetic and hopeless instead to protest.
Did you saw Putin's New Year Eve message to his friends? Our president is among them, and this isn't just a coincidence. Our president's political party is openly in favor of the electoral fraud that happened in Venezuela. The peace plan that our president is lobbying internationally for Ukraine is basically "give all that Russia wants". There's this quiet but steady realignment of Brazil to be "anti-western" and a not insignificant chunk of my kin looks to be in favor of that.
International media may not pay much attention to these issues, they hardly cover Brazilian internal affairs, but things here isn't looking good at all. Maybe some reaction emerge in 2025, but I'm not optimistic about that.
Yeah, Indians and Turkish are also tanking hard.
I'm taking all cautionary steps to protect the value of my work, like converting to crypto and diversifying, but it's getting quite tiresome to deal with societal uncertainty over and over again.
