Our rural homesteading lifestyle includes forestry.
Previously I didnt know that I would be using a chainsaw or felling trees.
While there are risks and it's not easy work, I welcomed the responsibility and opportunity to deepen my relationship with the trees.

I've been watching the buds since winter solstice. Then, only the most watchful eye could see them slowly, slowly, slowly changing.
Now the buds are swelling faster, faster, faster until they finally unfurl their blossoms and leaves.
That moment is nearly upon us here!

Building soil and community all year round!
The mainstream wants us divided, it would seem. I want us connected.
It's usually not helpful to push a value (e.g. #leavetheleaves ), I want to step back and see their point of view first, instead of value judging. This neighbor's generosity often makes it easier.
Im grateful for my neighbors, including folks with different values.
Enough of us find ways to support each other, sometimes small things, sometimes big gestures to make this community special.
I'm learning, expanding and loving as I go.
