Yesterday, we closed on our construction loan. Breaking ground in April.
The loan process took six months, and we had a great loan officer.
We have a sign up! 
We've officially signed a contract with a builder. This paper should move us closer to a home on this land.

Been a minute, but coming out of the Christmas break, we submitted plans to the builder to get us closer to contract.
I didn't realize I had to pay for the mailings and advertising for a variance request. Add it to the list of unexpected costs which I'm sure will only get longer.
We got some more floor samples delivered yesterday.
Even while riding in the car... Design never stops.
This will be the view from our living room and office, but much closer to the street.
This is what progress looks like.
Way back in 2012 we were driving through downtown Winter Garden, Florida. We saw this very sign. We both looked at each other and said "We should buy that!" So, we scuttled together funding and we got it.
