I’ve been in #bitcoin for over seven years, and this is arguably one of the most “fascinating”-and disappointing-times to observe how this space and its people have evolved. Many have turned into fiat maxis, pushing centralization, shilling MSTR as if it’s a savior, obsessing over “number go up,” promoting “strategic reserves,” and cooperating with governments.

It’s disheartening to see how the lure of money still dominates some minds, distracting talented individuals from Bitcoin’s core mission: separating money from the state.

To the true Bitcoiners who remain focused on the mission and resist to all of the above BS I mentioned-thank you! You’re the ones keeping the flame alive. There is hope! Kudos to you!

One of the saddest realities I can think of is that we all seem to be prisoners of a system where ideas like #bitcoin and platforms like #nostr—along with the people who champion them—can face the same fate as Julian Assange, Ross Ulbricht, Samourai devs. The law and the state have fallen into the hands of those who use them to serve their own interests, silencing truth and hiding it from the public.

Imagine posting on #nostr, and your note gets broadcasted across the internet, reaching centralized social media platforms like a virus 🦠 Your voice is heard everywhere, drawing attention and sparking curiosity about #nostr. I think nostr:npub1q3sle0kvfsehgsuexttt3ugjd8xdklxfwwkh559wxckmzddywnws6cd26p know how to build momentum and how to attract normies! 🍿

I could keep criticizing, but I already know the typical response in the open-source world: ‘If you think there are flaws, go ahead and fix them yourself.’ It’s the default deflection, ensuring nothing gets taken seriously when real issues are pointed out.

One of my top concern is privacy! 99% of relays are logging IP addresses—why not implement relays that by default can’t log them? Metadata leaks are another major issue. Then there’s file/media sharing—most of it is hosted on AWS,(by the way major relays are also hosted there) which defeats the purpose. And paying for client subscriptions to get ‘extra features,’ only to still be at the mercy of the client owner who can kick you out? This needs a serious rethink!

start questioning #nostr devs and the direction they’re taking with their implementations! The sooner you will do this the better this place will be !
