So the path to riches is shooting bits off Trump?
Maybe he could get one of those funny big ear lobe stretching thingies?
Part of the reason we do ok on Bandcamp is I’ve been on the Fediverse (Mastodon mainly) since 2019 and there’s a strong Bandcamp culture there.
I no longer release on Spotify and at gigs I specifically say to the audience if they like what we do and want to support, either buy physical direct from us or buy from Bandcamp. Telling them directly usually brings in a few sales.
Asking people at gigs to visit Spotify is bollocks, if people like you, they can find you. Telling them to use Spotify only creates free advertising for a platform that shows us zero respect!
Also fuck Daniel Elk, he’s not even a real Elk.

+1 sparkles.
5 years ago I set out to learn to code. For me this journey has been incredibly difficult. I've had so many up and downs, quit and restarted numerous times, had countless setbacks. Never having had any formal college education, I wanted to teach myself something, something hard. I wanted to learn and I wanted to build. More than anything, I wanted to find a way to contribute to Bitcoin. I've finally built something that I am proud of and am happy to share it in the hopes that it can help others.
It's nothing groundbreaking or complicated.. it's a website, a website built from the ground up and focused on self-custodying your Bitcoin. It may not be much but it's a huge achievement for me and proof that if your consistent and put in the proof of work, that over time you can achieve what was once a distant dream. It's the start a new journey as well, one where I feel empowered to do more. LFG.
Please share it with whomever you think might find it useful: https://www.wehodlbtc.com/
If you've got feedback or suggestions please do let me know! 🧡
#bitcoin #selfcustody
Nicely done! Can super relate to this, got as far as running nodes in command line, now trying to do a more traditional home server for music, folate storage, sharing etc.
It hurts my head but it’s good to challenge yourself.
I think it can help in so much that after a while the person can at least have some sort of back up should things take a nasty turn. Eg eviction or other difficult life situation.
I’ve always had music so I can’t say with certainty money can save people. Very few of my old friends made it, they either died or went mad. I honestly think music rescued me.
Interested to read responses…
Disused Lloyds office sites to be converted into social housing - https://www.theguardian.com/business/article/2024/jul/15/disused-lloyds-office-sites-to-be-converted-into-social-housing working from home would free up more offices...just saying
Until you then live at work in the building you used to go to work in…
Hope they make decent living spaces and aren’t shit.
Have a good on Cristalina!
Music production too.
I ended up nuke and paving the server. I'm currently running installing Bitcoin-core via the full-node script from https://bitnodes.io
Then, I'll install lnd, me pool, and lightning terminal... etc... directly. No docker. No wonky setup 🐂💩 Just bare metal, like we use to do in the old days 😂
I’ve done the same with my regular server, today I’m attempting Mastodon on the command line, what could possibly go wrong….
Good luck!
That RegionalHodl guy has turned up on the TL again, I thought I’d lost him!
Eek that’s not good.
Still not put anything on my, just a place to host RoboSats. Don’t think I will be now.
That’s just an AI engine running on his foot. The hardware is still a little clunky.
How do you get on with Bandcamp? That’s still by far our best revenue stream.
