My immediate thoughts on the Trump assassination attempt:

• It’s not uncommon for assassination attempts and terrorist attacks by intelligence agencies to fail because they often nurture literal insane people to do their dirty work for them.

• The idea that this is PR or staged is an enormous stretch, imo. He seemed to have actually gotten hit in the ear. The idea that he let someone shoot him in the ear, or he cut himself or faked it to get attention — when he is not having ANY problem at all getting all the attention he wants — is a little much for me.

To stay healthy these days I watch my diet-avoid seed oils, processed foods, carbs and eat mostly meat, eggs and cheese. I also get a full blood work up + urinalysis once to twice a year. If you want to avoid prescription drugs for chronic illness, I think it’s better to take charge of your own health rather than rely on a physician. Here are the markers I find most helpful:

HbA1c < 5.7

Fasting glucose < 100

TG/HDL < 2

Triglycerides < 170

Uric acid < 5.6

And waist to hip ratio should be less than .8

The idea that only zaps are quality signal is dumb.

This is like ignoring the vast majority of people who don't want money in their social interactions.

Imagine standing in a circle of friends and zapping each other 2 cents every time someone said something you agree with. This is just not how social interactions work. Money was never part of the social agreement.

Proof of work and all / actions speak louder than words / put your money where your mouth is... I get it, that has value and is absolutely true in other context, but not in social. It's a nice bonus, it's great to be valued with a payment for something you put effort into, but it can never replace free expression without the expectation of payment. Believe it or not, some people don't want money involved in their conversations.

That's not to say that you can't have it, but don't insist on only zaps. It's going to turn people away.
