Amethyst has a sort of insta mode too.
We're damned close if we're not already there. I think mainly identity (key) management is the bumpy part still.
The article frames the Palestinians (particularly children) as victims and Israel as the aggressor.
I would have the same issue if the article laid the blame at the feet of Hamas citing decades of aggression against the Israelis.
I believe war is hell, and the truth is the first casualty. Until, and only if, both sides stop this... it is still going to continue.
And as long as we point to one side as the bad guys it's never going to stop.
Somebody beat you to the capslock by about a decade. 😆
So... this thing says to say no to war, but takes a side.
I am 100% in agreement war stinks.
The rest is supporting the war for one side tacetly.
no.
I understand a form of it can result from injury. Very different though from emerging organically. I have also read that people have been able to learn to visualize with work. Personally I do not want this. I like how my brain works.
1. Business is not evil. And the tradeoffs for this network are tweaked and different than the base layer by design. No one has to use it.
2. I see a lot of black and white thinking in these comments which will lead us in circles. We HAVE to choose which compromises we are willing to use on various layers. And I agree this one needs to be explored for sure. I am grateful that we can start having this conversation.
3. Elements and Liquid are FOSS. Anyone can fork it, and change the incentives as they wish. I imagine Blockstream would love to see this, and would likely want to work with the other implementations to allow for interoperabvility between the forks.
Finally... The only way I see for us to build good software on top of bitcoin is to choose the tradeoffs we want to see and weigh them against the benefits they provide. AND take the time to understand them. Again I am glad you brought up this topic nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx since we really SHOULD be talking about it. A federated trust model is inherently more centralized than the base chain. This is going to necessarily lead to questions as to the incentives it creates. I just suggest we walk in with both skepticism as well as an open mind.
Liquid is, in my opinion, one of the brightest lights in the realm of bitcoin scaling. While we all hyperventilate over the formation of ETFs which are 100% centralized "Bitcoin Banks", #Blockstream is actually building the foundations of a distributed "Bitcoin Bank" that retains a degree of decentralization while offering strong benefits to those who choose to use the network. AND the software is there for anyone else to implement with.
Carry on with talking about it, I'd say!
I was surprised to learn that there are many many visual artists with it. I am strongly creative/artistic, but a musician primarily. But I paint too. I think the most powerful part of learning this for me was just understanding HOW DIFFERENT people can be. The very way we form thoughts and grapple with solving problems is fundamentally so different. And yet here we are having a perfectly normal conversation :😃
That's amazing to me. That sort of comment is the one where I feel a little jealous. ;) My Brother in law basically described that ability.
Saw the little meme with the 5 apples online. Which one are you?, it asked. In usual aphant style I basically just dropped my jaw as mumbled "What the actual fuck?". I am in my 50s. I have known there was at least one thing weird about my brain. But it blows me away that it took me 'till now.
YES! You are the opposite of me in that regard. And the inner monologue thing is wild to me too. I think aphants tend to have strong ones since that is one of the ways we compensate, through language. It is peaceful. And I know some who find out feel robbed or disabled. I have not. I see it as part of just... me.
I am an aphantasic person. It is a strange thing to have discovered later in life.
nostronaut
I have no idea what anyone is talking about above. but that's the name 😆
But muh jpeg!
I really enjoyed this conversation with nostr:npub1s5yq6wadwrxde4lhfs56gn64hwzuhnfa6r9mj476r5s4hkunzgzqrs6q7z.
Given Preston’s audience, my goal was to talk about the virtues of Nostr, instead of simply shilling Primal. I hope we’ll see some new faces around here as a result of this pod.
No doubt primal is a good implementation...
https://ordinals.com is getting spammed or attacked. Some call this just a barrage of valid packets. 😂
One man's valid packet is another man's denial of service attack.
You know this.
Actually, as I sit here thinking about this the little too much vodka in me, it seems like having your name multiple in nip05 domains could be a sort of decentralized and automatic web of trust.
Let me know if you want one at jmoose and you could always add me to yours.
