For reasonable privacy:
1. Buy esim compatible phone with cash.
2. Download tor over public wifi.
3. Enable tor bridges and always-on tor vpn.
4. Buy cryptocurrency with cash.
5. Buy esim with cryptocurrency.
6. Keep phone in aluminum foil lined case when not in use.
7. Do not put your government ID on your phone or on any apps.
The problem is that many people actually need God or the modern idea of a simulation because they are children, not leaders/adults.
Without a higher power, bigger plan or "benevolent" authority, they revert to nihilsm and misbehave or they become complacent and all progress from them stops.
Basically, sheeple believing in this crap is the only reason a peaceful and productive society can even exist.
So just let them have it and "disprove" the parts that lead to bad behavior.
