While it's important to acknowledge and respect every individual's identity, we must also recognize that the true liberation of society is not achieved by politicizing identity or collectivizing society under different banners, but rather, by decollectivizing it. The instrumentalization of social causes and flags by politics and the state can unintentionally exacerbate division, discrimination, and even incite violence. In the pursuit of promoting one group, we must ensure we're not alienating or marginalizing another.
This is not to diminish the struggles that many in the LGBTQ+ community face. Rather, it is a call to re-evaluate our approach. Liberation comes from acknowledging and respecting each person's unique identity and experience. It is about empowering every individual to live authentically, free from societal constraints or categories.
In the spirit of true progress, let us shift our focus from the symbols we fly to the actions we take. Let's celebrate our shared humanity and cultivate a culture of acceptance, where diversity is respected and embraced without necessitating a political declaration. This is the path to a more inclusive and peaceful society - where respect for individual liberty and private property forms the bedrock of our interactions.
Let us remember that unity is not achieved through the raising of different flags, but through the lowering of barriers that divide us. Let us strive for a society where acceptance and tolerance are not the exception, but the rule.
