People with more followers than me finally started reposting my post promoting Nostr on X. Now it's time to just let the network effect do it's job.

Weed or alcohol?

We agree on the problem. I am just proposing a small solution that I believe will work. I like to think of problems in terms of what I can do, rather than what others should do. I can’t do anything about people’s addiction to likes and attention except not contribute. Rather, I can produce content worth engaging with that doesn’t fuel the mania.

In the age of constant political spam, global outrage and conflict we must resist the urge to contribute to the chaos.

We must produce the content that we would like to see. If we want love then we must be loving. If we want in-depth information on meaningful content then we must create and research this content. If we want to see the best of humanity then we must share the best of humanity.

Although there is much to be said about resistance; I find that proactive generation of radically high quality content that we ourselves would like to see is the antidote to the barrage of negativity we are fed. It might be the ultimate resistance. Not addressing the political pundits and trolls, at their level, by “rejecting” their messages, but producing content that is so good it drowns them out.

As generic as it may be, we must become the change that we wish to see in the world. We must reflect on our contribution to this content by engaging with it, resisting it (therefore persisting it), and giving anger and energy toward it.

We have the opportunity to cultivate a new platform, with new protocols, standards and qualities. To rephrase the Bible; we must let our light so shine so that men will see our good works and be lead to create good content.
