Self-sovereign identity (SSI) was a great idea, but a big piece was missing- the ability to natively accept payment. Now, with npubs, that is possible with #cashu and DMs.

Not sure what to call this yet, but it is some sort of socio-economic overlay network that sits on top of, but not dependent on DNS/IP.

It’s the combination of the identity and payment - that’s the big innovation. A self-generated npub can be your identity AND your payment address. IP and DNS can be leveraged to make things easier, but a npub is not dependent on DNS/IP.

This. Again. nostr:note1wrsks4u7laxdmeucjedyw9tq7ltkk2efm848wr63ajkwkz4zwn4sr0w084

IP addresses have routers.

Npubs have relays.

IP addresses transfer information.

Npubs are the social overlay.

For the taking

All fixed. You can see the resolution in github. In brief I had a trailing slash nostr.json/ that nginx turned into a redirect. Once I removed, it worked fine.

It will go to your wallet

Golden evening.

OK, this seems to break my nip -05 which I serve through an nginx reverse proxy server. It does a redirect to the same site.

That’s how you find out the nip05 which is then can be cross-validated.

Because the metadata is authoritative as signed by the npub.
