I just got safebox recover working (not yet ready for user testing yet).
I can create a safebox on any machine (my macbook, for example) - find the recovery phrase and go to any other machine, a linux vps that have the safebox binarie and type, for example

And, boom, I am in business with my safebox on a totally different machine

The English Law Commission is starting to get a handle on that. They have identified an 'asset' or 'thing, that can exist despite the law. Everything else exists as a result of the law - patents, copyrights, etc. We are clearly working with the newly defined category.

Maybe a book title: ‘Nostr is the New Normal’
I actually have open, honest and productive conversations on #nostr because no one is playing to an algorithm or wanting to be top dog on the platform (because there is no platform).
I am also falling into my old habit of blog first, revise later. For those who care, I published a book in that manner. It didn’t set out that way, but I had more than enough material that was vetted by users beforehand. Only about 40% of the content, revised, ended up being in the book, but that was a great outcome of the whole process.
Maybe still keep the ‘belongs to’ for devices. So mydevice@trbouma.bsky.social - anything to the left of the ‘@‘ is a thing, not an entity.
I view #nostr as more of a greenfield opportunity.
The simple heuristic is use: name implies authority, identifier implies authenticity. They overlap, but not necessarily- you need both implications.
