The one

Watchman Privacy interviewed SimpleX, But yet

If you hit the contact on his website, only Telegram and Protonmail are listed. And Google analytics, Google fonts, Google forms, Gmail, and Cloudflare are used.

First of all, Telegram leaks metadata (who/when is talking), and that's why people use SimpleX. You'd know this if you listened to your own interview.

Second, even if we ignore that Proton's board of directors has a World Economic Forum member, which is the organization pushing for forced digital IDs. Protonmail is not really end-to-end, if they force you to have your private key in their web app, that's cloud-to-cloud. As I've went over previously, they even ban PGP signatures from external apps. Even Mikkel Thorup, the guy who SELLS Watchman Privacy event tickets, said on his podcast "Protonmail isn't as private as people think".

So surely they self-host right? No, Gabe Custodiet’s "Privacy Summit" with Expat Money used Google forms and Gmail to collect the info of those seeking to flee the US for privacy. Thorup’s ExpatMoney.com and io are both on Cloudflare with Google emails, and these coordinated all Watchman events of political asylum seekers and 2nd citizenship applications.

Do you really want Cloudflare and Google knowing you're fleeing the US for financial privacy? Now, I know Thorup would respond to this by saying "well your data goes to the countries you apply to citizenship for, so it's not private anyway". But this is misleading, because many countries may only need a fixed investment or time spent in the country. While as applicants to these exclusive Privacy Summits, often feel pressure to exaggerate their assets, to get accepted as clients.

Then on Watchman's site, he sells “Bitcoin privacy” through Gumroad, which is on Cloudflare, Google analytics, and Facebook analytics. But the worst part is Gumroad blocks new account sign-ups unless you enable Google. Watchman can’t even figure out how to not have Google fonts API on his WordPress. And then he only sells his book for Amazon CIA contractor fiat, only uses spyware Twitter/Youtube and no alternatives, and lists the following: "CONSULTING: Few humans have the experience and knowledge I do with private and freedom living."

Few humans have your knowledge? Give me a break bro, maybe in scamming people. Here at Simplified Privacy, our message is the opposite,

I am not claiming to be anything special. I'm just a regular dude without even an undergrad computer science degree. All I got is a dream to spread freedom. And if I can learn this open source technology later in life, so can you.

So if you want to see Watchman come on Nostr or SimpleX, make some noise. Smash that repost. Because the only way he's going to adopt freedom tech is when its undeniable that he's being left behind.

Deleted Nudes Permanently Leak on Apple?!

New iOS update is resurfacing deleted files that users thought were gone.

In some cases, NUDE photos, EVEN AFTER the user WIPED it and SOLD the device.

According to the Verge, quote:

“Apple appears to have a bug that’s dredging up data that iPhone owners thought was gone. Some iPhone owners are reporting that, after updating their phones to iOS 17.5, their deleted photos — some quite old — are popping up again, according to a Reddit thread that MacRumors spotted. iOS beta testers had the same complaints about the bug last week.”

This is quite possible since it’s syncing with the Apple cloud, and may not be rewritten with 1s and 0s correctly. Data when it’s deleted is just removing the pointer to that data, and it’s not fully deleted in such a way that it can’t be recovered until overwritten. This new version of iOS apparently is bringing to light a serious issue with Apple’s data policies, especially since most users do sync with the cloud.

Some sources are now reporting nude photos coming back even after wiping the device. Quote The Verge, “a person claimed in a later post that “around 300” of their old pictures, some of which were “revealing,” appeared on an iPad they’d wiped per Apple’s guidelines and sold to a friend.”

So if you haven’t already, consider switching to Linux and DeGoogled phone. This way you don’t have to worry about the permanent data leak issue, that comes from sync with a cloud you don’t control the data wiping policies of.

This is serious stuff if it turns out that deleted photos of previous user pop up on the device of the current user. It means data was not encrypted which is insane.

How is mutiny different from Phoenix? What are its advantages?

As political unit, Ukraine started in 9th century as Kingdom of Rus. Moskovia as a political unit started in 1157 as the Principality of Vladimir-Suzdal. Saying that Russia started in Kyiv is like saying that Argentina started as the Kingdom of Castile in the 9th century or that the USA started as the Kingdom of Wessex in 6th century. There is a connection, but a VERY remote one.

Putin said to Tucker that Russia started in 862. But he did not say that at that time, Moskow area was a swampy forest with no civilization at all. But Kyiv already existed, and the Rurikid dynasty started ruling there in 882 (before them, Kyiv was ruled by Askold and Dyr since 860). By 1100, Kyiv became 4th largest city in Europe (much bigger than Paris or London those days), and Moskow was not yet founded (its founding date is 1147). The founder of Moskow is buried in Kyiv, you can come to his grave whenever you want.

And that state was called Rus or Ruthenia. The emperor of Bysanthium called it “Rossia” in 10th century, so it was just the Greek spelling of “Rus”. In 13th century, the Pope was calling Danylo “King of Rus” while Alexander Nevsky was called “Duke of Suzdal”. Even in 17th century, Ukrainian Hetman Bohdan Khmelnitskyi was calling himself “the Hetman of Rus”.

So Moskow was a colony of Rus and was never called “Rus” officially before 18th century. Old kings of Rus oficially called it "Zalissia" ("The land behind the forest"). They started the first state only in 1157, and were calling themselves Suzdalese (after the city of Suzdal). Their first newspaper was called “The News of Moskovian state”. There is a coin of Peter first with “Moskovian rouble” engraved on it. Ivan Fedorov, the first book printer of Moskovia escaped to Ukraine just 2 years after printing his book, and he was identifying himself as Moskovian.

But in 1721, after taking control of the lands of the ancient Rus, Moskovia renamed themselves to Russia officially (and took the 2-headed eagle of Bysanthium too). And then they made a strange story that Rus “migrated” to Moskow escaping from the Golden Horde. Which is weird, because they should have escaped in the opposite direction. And there are no records about any mass migrations. Also, Kyiv was paying tribute to the Horde for 80 years only, while Moskow was there for 240 years, and their elites mixed as result (e.g. Ivan the Terrible was Rurikid by father and Genghizid by mother).

Buttom line: As political unit, Ukraine started in 9th century as Kingdom of Rus. Moskovia as a political unit started in 1157 as the Principality of Vladimir-Suzdal. Saying that Russia started in Kyiv is like saying that Argentina started as the Kingdom of Castile in the 9th century or that the USA started as the Kingdom of Wessex in 6th century.
