Time only allows space to discharge the emotions a little, which makes it easier to let go of them. The emotions we let go of, which is part of healing, is only by accident. Unless we are actively consciously doing the work to heal, we won't make much progress and it will take much longer. We all deserve better than that and we are worth it. Narcissists will try to destroy us no matter what. We can't give in to enough, or stay, or leave and have them just move on.
