🌳 Tree Cavity Project Update – Spring 2025 🐝
Wild honey bees don’t need man-made hives.
They need old trees, natural cavities—and to be left alone.
That’s why we’ve been scaling up our Tree Cavity Project:
🔹 55 new artificial tree cavities were installed
🔹 4 natural cavities newly observed and documented
🔹 9 colonies successfully overwintered in the wild
Every cavity is a small act of defiance against industrial beekeeping.
Every swarm that thrives without treatment is proof:
Nature can take care of itself—if we let it.
Support real freedom. Support wild bees.

🐝 Many thanks to the fantastic team at UBS Helpetica and Blick. We are overwhelmed by the great coverage of our honey bee discovery trail in Vaulruz! The detailed article impressively shows how important it is to protect our endangered honeybees.
🌿 Our 1.4 km long discovery trail combines nature conservation with education in a unique way. Here, visitors can experience how a bee colony lives in the forest and what bees need as natural pollinators.
🤝 We are particularly proud of the successful collaboration with UBS Helpetica and the dedicated volunteers! Together, we have made the path safer - a real win-win situation for everyone involved.
The article with video shows wonderfully how enriching volunteer work can be for nature. As one of our helpers so aptly put it: “It's exciting to do good - especially in nature!”
Projects like this thrive on people who want to get stuck in and make a difference.
👏 A big thank you to the professional cooperation and the trust in our mission
🐝 World Bee Day – Let’s talk about the wild honey bee.
Today, most posts will be about “saving the bees.”
But let’s be specific:
Not all bees need saving—
some just need to be left alone.
At Free the Bees, we focus on the wild-living honey bee (Apis mellifera),
a species that can survive on its own—without medication, feeding, or human control—
if we stop destroying its habitat.
We don’t keep hives.
We restore tree cavities.
We monitor wild colonies.
And we advocate for legal protection of the honey bee as a wild animal.
Because not every bee is an industrial tool.
Some are still sovereign.
So today, instead of posting cartoon bees and honey jars,
ask where the wild bees live—and who protects them.
We do. With your help, and without compromise.

For our German-speaking bee friends:
Our founder and CEO André Wemelinger was allowed to share our vision and talk about our unconventional way in a detailed interview with fundraiso.ch:

We’ve worked with nature longer than we’ve worked with Bitcoin. But both reward patience. 🐝🕰️⚡
There’s no shortcut to a healthy ecosystem or sound money.
You observe. You learn. You build. Slowly.
That’s why we rewild hives—and stack sats.
Low time preference isn’t a meme. It’s a mindset.

GM, freedom lovers! ☀️🐝
May your weekend be as free as a bee and as unstoppable as Bitcoin.⚡
Keep stacking, keep building, and keep fighting for a world where both bees and people thrive in sovereignty. 🌿
