Talk about a small world.
Met a fellow Bitcoiner in Bali and found out we both live in the same area in Thailand.
And not only that, our kids goes to the school.
(Image and name blurred for privacy)

I always do it, need to calibrate for the cut though, also used a wireless probe to double check.
Or you may invest with value creator like nostr:npub1ejn774qahqmgjsfajawy7634unk88y26yktvwuzp9kfgdeejx9mqdm97a5 , that makes sure that your grandchildren will still have valuable information to study, and still have a valuable community to join.
Like what I try to do.

How did I forget that?
Yes, zap us, so we can have food on our tables!
Japanese (and Thais) were masking up long before Covid. (For different reasons, I presume.)
It's common courtesy to mask up when you've got a cold, or when allergy season rolls around.
Women also like ro mask up to save time on makeup. (It's a women thing we men couldn't seem to understand) Guys mask up for fashion too, plenty of cool mask / street fashion.
There's also the problem with smog and pm2.5 dust
And when you get used to it, not nasking feels naked.
I'm usually the only crazy guy who doesn't wear a mask around in Bangkok as well. We are psychopaths. Lol.

NT TOT, but knowing them, it could just be a screw up.
People using that particular ISP cannot send zaps, or even visit getalby.com since last night.
their mobile network still works though. And I can get back to zapping with a VPN.
We might add an AI auto generated sub later, but probably won't be doing a proper translation. Too much work.

Just a heads up, it seems like one of the ISP in Thailand has started blocking access to getalby.
VPN works fine. Waiting to see if it's intentional.

With the recent rise in fiat price of Bitcoin, it's not surprising to see a lot of people who were sitting on the fence jumping in, asking question like "how can I invest in Bitcoin?", "is this a good time to buy?", "What about this cheaper coin?"
But this is new.
Since I've been talking about Nostr and ranting on how facebook and X is twisting your psyche and damaging your ability to think clearly, a guy ask me where can he buy Nostr stocks.
I initially told him No, there is no 'The Nostr Co., Ltd." that he can invest in but I think it's better to explain that in more details.
Nostr, or The Nostr 🤣 is a protocol for transmitting notes and other stuff through a network of relays. (The name stands for **Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays**) where individual can broadcast a message, which can be anything, to a network without having to sign up for an account anywhere, all notes and other stuff only requires a digital signature to verify its validity, there is no central server where the notes and user account information are kept, users create and maintain their own account by generating their own private / public key pairs.
It's a decentralized communication protocol that is open to anyone.
It's a dumb protocol that anyone can build their own applications on.
The first applications were created to facilitate signing, broadcasting, and aggregating notes to and from relays, acting like a 'Twitter clone' but more and more applications are exploring ways to utilize the 'Othe Stuff' aspect of the protocol.
## So, how do you actually 'Invest' in the Nostr?
While the initial answer is no, there is no Nostr coin or stocks (Well, there's probably a shitcoin called Nostr, created to fool those Fomo'ing in), once you understand what it is, you actually can, and there are several ways.
1. **You can invest in the protocol development itself.** Jack Dorsey was probably one of the first investor of the protocol, putting $5m into helping fund the development. nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 publishes how the fund is being utillized publicly on: nostr:naddr1qqyxvepkv33nxdmrqgsrhuxx8l9ex335q7he0f09aej04zpazpl0ne2cgukyawd24mayt8grqsqqqa28qjqkz8
2. **You can invest in the apps.** The most popular 'apps' right now would be nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s 's Damus on iOS, nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z 's Amethys on Android. Or pick any client you love, I'm posting this on Nostrudel.ninja created by nostr:npub1ye5ptcxfyyxl5vjvdjar2ua3f0hynkjzpx552mu5snj3qmx5pzjscpknpr and there are a bunch of other interesting clients to use, explore, and maybe invest in, like primal.net, snort.social, iris.to, lume, gossip, blowater, (shout out to nostr:npub1ejxswthae3nkljavznmv66p9ahp4wmj4adux525htmsrff4qym9sz2t3tv , I'll be trying it out a bit more today.)
3. **You can find many interesting 'Other Stuff' projects to explore and maybe, fund.** nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft has a ton of projects like nsecbunker , hilighter, datavendingmachine, etc. We even have a few Thai projects like wherostr.social by nostr:npub18k67rww6547vdf74225x4p6hfm4zvhs8t8w7hp75fcrj0au7mzxs30202m
4. You can help grow the network and its use case by **investing your time and expertise to build your own app!** The Nostr is an open protocol, you can get started right away without any permission from anyone!
5. Or if you really really want to just buy the coin, well, on Nostr we currently uses satoshis. So if Nostr became more widely adopted, it's possible that that will increase the demands for satoshis as a means of payment and thus, increase the value of sats. ***And sats are still cheap, you can get 1 million sats for just 0.01 bitcoin! 🤣 So, yeah, maybe buy some sats and start stacking'em!***
Last but not least, even though it's only been around for a year, Nostr is getting its own conferences already, There's Nostrica in Costa Rica back in March, you can watch the recordings here, https://nostrica.com/
And Nostrasia in Tokyo starts in just a few days from now, you can still sign up for the livestream at https://nostr.world/. Go to these conferences, meet with people, talk, and you might find something you'd love to see grow into a successful business.
Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to Nostrasia this year as I can't stand being away from my kids any longer than I already have in Bali nostr:npub1ftw5mdhk9c2zcsc7fzs0vxydxtdqs8jfj2va5egz05hemsm50saqgr8wjt , but I will definite not miss it next year. :D
