Nostr is using the same curve as bitcoin so it should be possible to just hash the npub and do a p2pkh tx and then spend it with the npriv.
Feature request for snort.social (and possibly other Nostr clients): When clicking "like" please wait a few seconds before sending the event to let users cancel the action in case of a simple miss-click.

Vast majority of Bitcoin Lightning payments are custodial, even more are hard-coded into a single centralized node.
This was NOT the case for Bitcoin on-chain adoption in the early days.🤷♂️

This is so sad since it was fully predictable since the start. I wonder when we'll see WoS or CashApp do any significant seizing of funds or censorship from their LN users (for whatever reason). The writing is on the wall…
If you haven't yet done NIP-05 identity verification, no need to jump on solutions that do it for you.
I've put together the simplest possible self-hosted NIP-05 verification setup I can think of. Just get the cheapest VPS you can, clone the repo, edit 2 files slightly, and run one command and you'll have an always-on, always up-to-date, properly certified NIP-05 identity endpoint:
