Writing Cubed - the New American Utopian novel

You will probably miss this connection at first, as the truth of emotion processes instantly, then filters up to the mind like a slow drip against reality. Bang! It hits you. Although the entire set and setting were completely disparate - one detail will be exactly like the dream. The look is not it - the look is the message. The detail will be something like, oh i don’t know, maybe she’s wearing the same outfit from the dream when she gives you the look. An outfit that is unique and separate from those around. An outfit that is simply and mundanely out of place. Realization hits like a knife - strikes in, then again drips - reverberates.

These questions will occupy your daydreams for months. They will influence how you behave will others. Staining some interactions, and enriching many more with deeper significance. Until one day in your waking life you find yourself in a scenario in a wholly familiar environment. An environment so different then the dream that their connection seems impossible. And yet, despite all of these factors - you turn. You see her. She sees you. The look that has haunted you for months, the look that froze you solid in the dream scape - you see it. In waking life. Staring back at you.

Every time you use the dream computational space to simulate the future, it adds a spoke to your journey - your destiny path. When these dreams appear, they make themselves known. They reverberate like a beautifully melancholic note. Some will haunt you with insomnia for fear of avoiding the void. Others inspire hope. Others only serve to spawn thousands of questions more.

If you’ve never asked for prescient dreams, you’re probably a free will maximalist - A free will supremacist if you will. What do I mean by this? Well, what happens when you ask to know your future - To be delivered messages from dreams? What happens when a dream shows you the future - and you believe it? Well - your future has been written. And so it is.

If you’ve never asked for prescient dreams, you’ve probably never had them. Why would you? After all, dreams are just your ‘subconcious mind processing emotions from the day, integrating memory, ..” or something like that. Sure that holds some truth. Obviously.

If you’ve never asked for prescient dreams, you’re probably a wise person. Although you might lack general curiosity. Don’t you want to peek into your future like a child would? If you could press a button, would you do it?
