Hell is getting frosty at the edges. Today my wife said she was getting fed up with Windows 11and AI shenanigans and might think about switching to #Linux.
Yeah, I gave up trying to remove this screw on my mouse...when I realised it's a second indicator for the + battery polarity and not an actual screw.
Yes, my eyesight is bad, but still! https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/0c9e326b79ab7a99143aedfad7816891f7af4703cc3b5fa33f6632d70428d9af/b13804ab49f311dc7fa142becca96fedd8d7554b7548fbfa765aab09246694db.webp
#Linux folks. I'd appreciate comments about ease of setup and any experience using maddy as a lightweight mail server on a simple Web site that will send the occasional user email (low volume maybe <100/week). Thanks.

My Wednesday tip: Most results in response to a Web search for [thing] that have titles like "10 best [thing] in [year]" are not worth checking out.
Local hilltop #Meshtastic node (not mine) suddenly lost range. Root cause analysis suggested cows from adjacent field took a dislike to it and rendered it horizontally polarised!
Undefined numbers in written instructions should always be replaced by '8'.
This is per the adage:
"Better 8 than 'n'.".
Here's the breadboarded Seeed Xiao32 #Meshtastic kit + test OLEDs & GPS receivers. All working except for big display layout. A few more things to try before it goes in a clear case with battery.
It seems that no-one in our house likes mini bits of gritty coconut or peanut.
Looks like the XIAO #meshtastic firmware doesn't handle 128x128 displays properly :-(
Wading through the code...sigh.
Time to get out the breadboard and play with this Seeed kit and extras. #Meshtastic
The news reports that second class letters might only be delivered every other day to save costs.
In our rural area, a delivery every other day would be an improvement.
Having just walked doggy in the foulest of windy, wet, cold weather, I am questioning my right to build a #Meshtastic solar-powered node and force it to live outside.
Is that cruelty to electrons?
Thinking of all my online friends in the Midlands upwards. I hope the upcoming weather is kind to you.
Gah! My being-built outdoor node & my base station (both on window sill) suddenly dropped off the #Meshtastic net. A bloomin' tree must have moved a leaf. Solution: Antennas 1m upwards on a makeshift tower.
Solar panel for outdoor node on way 'cos Evri lost the first one. https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/0c9e326b79ab7a99143aedfad7816891f7af4703cc3b5fa33f6632d70428d9af/0727d424f77d574e6b694d498629bf02222de6e48b8fe20d8741ff6f534392a0.webp
Saturday:
How it was planned: #Meshtastic node build.
How it went: Fix leak under kitchen sink. Rebuild cupboard and shelves damaged by water.

Go on, it's only 1 hop away.
...Good grief, it's already used in nail polish and lipstick..
