They won’t, because they’ve already outsourced this to banks and financial intermediaries via money transmission and AML/KYC laws. The data is just a law enforcement request away
USD that isn’t a physical note is already a CBDC.
It’s not spendable without permission, you need KYC to use it, and it’s a liability of the federal reserve by proxy
I can’t really assess the threat yet. They can’t even get these things to drive
I’m not speaking so much about the internal mind of bruce wayne, though that’s interesting to think about. In a lot of ways bruce is superhuman in his ability to do justice to the concept of batman.
I was more saying that by putting on the mask, bruce created a symbol. Just like the Guy Fawkes mask was a symbol in V for Vendetta. Ideas take on a life outside of meat space. “Ideas are bulletproof”.
But as #[3] pointed out, ideas are meaningless without humans and human action. In order to become batman, you need to unite the mask (the ideal of batman), with action and heroism
The mask is the symbol and concept of batman. In theory, anyone could don the mask and be batman. But putting on the mask is not a sufficient condition to be batman.
To truly become the bat, the wearer needs the skill, time, money, and integrity of bruce wayne. You need both

Does anything normal come out of the Fediverse/Mastodon?
The .mostr crowd is so strange, I love going to global and checking them out lol
They used to be called lightning escrow I think. Never used it myself
The fundamental property of bitcoin is its permissionless/censorship resistant nature.
I suspect that many Chivo users don’t realize they are using it in custodial and permissioned manner. This is a learning opportunity for them
Could you share one of the experiments? This is a great premise for a book
Au revoir, nostranas
Environment problems!
I was using python 3.9 at run time, but the python-nostr module was installed under 3.8. Got it working now, appreciate you!
super strange, adding an additional argument didn’t help. Thanks though
any idea why event_refs and pubkey_refs are not being recognized as instance variables?
filters = Filter(pubkey_refs=['your_hex_pub'])
is giving me TyprError: __init__() got an unexpected keyword argument ‘pubkey_refs’
lol now I feel really dumb because I swear that’s the first thing I tried…
That did just work, thank you!
#[0] I have a really newb question about python-nostr.
I want to create a Filter() with author equal to my pubkey. How do I get my plain text npub or hex key into a type that can be passed to Filter()?
