When I first arrived in Algonquin Park in 1913 it was a quiet place. Few lumbermen, fewer tourists.

Arthur Lismer said he never saw a porcupine, so I introduced him to a family of porcupines.

I find power in my sketches - small but meaningful.

From my Uncle Brodie I learned to observe nature closely and appreciate its detail when sketching.

It's not that cold outside. Temperature is in the low teens. Shannon said there was one nastly cold spell in February of forty below.
