nostr:npub19zq9jfyaxp5d9x2wzm9p4gr7cndhtap5qs549efkxpwgagwwz65svnu4m5 might be worth a buy then. Personally I cannot really think of any long-term application for it :akko_think: well except maybe if you plan on using that thermal printer for something.

Did anybody buy and use DevTerm by ClockworkPi https://www.clockworkpi.com?

Their hardware looks too good to be true and it kinda feels like a scam. If you use it, what's the state of software support there? Does it have mainline Linux? What can you say about the ergonomics too?

Please boost for visibility

nostr:npub19zq9jfyaxp5d9x2wzm9p4gr7cndhtap5qs549efkxpwgagwwz65svnu4m5 I almost bought it at one time, but there is really only one specific reason to ever buy this thing and that is to fuck around with it. But it is not a workstation. The keyboard is very small and definitely not ergonomic. Nor is the display, imagine sitting hunched over staring downward at an odd angle trying to work on this thing. That's what you should expect it to be.

Also keep in mind it's not that cheap when factoring in the cost of the core module, and even the most powerful core isn't really anything to write home about. I'd say the price is about what you should expect for a niche product.

I don't know how far the support for mainline linux is, but again from what I can tell it seems you're supposed to run the custom Armbian version called ClockworkOS, and if you want to get the most out of the device that's really your only option for an OS.

I might sound a bit negative about it, but what I mainly want to say is to just know what you buy, this is something very specific for a very specific group of enthusiasts. You either like this or you don't.
