The Open Source Creator Contest #1 is a contest to commission the creation of a piece of digital media for the public domain. The winner gets a grand prize of 225,289 sats which doubles as a commission for creating the work. Satoshee users, Open Source Culture supporters, sponsor companies and nostr zappers get the chance to participate in choosing the victor. The proposal submission period was 22 February - 22 March 2025.

A total of 7 valid submissions were made by a variety of talented artists, including but not limited to: nostr:npub1jdtdqz9tyf4tdvy2k0rnjqz5dv5rd3yvw5nlpefn9syjqx37dhyqxwh0c8, nostr:npub1pvn0tyrrrv86xpydzq6ppeyyuh3zut263m82emdfmydn37qa6x5qmh8khc, nostr:npub1rpyrzd2n6dl7fj7chtfdd0rzxas46ulu53jwmvk37s64jqx0gnmqdl5s57, nostr:npub1cxp3l03x20mkzezzr4takm8w8zuva7xwvacmcewp97z58hjt8xls3mexlq and nostr:npub1xxt66cxm30xej88muq3sj653eragnymuxhsahclzj6t2k7sj9w2slgmucj.

The voting period will be open from 23 till 31 of March 2025, after which the winning artist will have 1 month to deliver the promised works.
