My last 2 Conqueror medals for 2025 just showed up. Nice, heavy chunks of decorated metal. 🤩 Eye glasses included for scale.
The 2025 celebrates 450 miles for the year. I initially had a 500 mile goal, but dropped it down due to issues with my right foot. Feeling good about 2026, so set a goal of 700 miles for the year (about 1.9 miles/day).
The Tokyo medal was the first trip I’d done solely on the Conqueror app, as they used to allow access to the trip postcards and maps on their website. Was very disappointed- the map is difficult to use and since it’s on my phone, the screen grabs of the scenery are so small compared to what I could get on my desktop. The map was so annoying I gave up after the first three days. 😣
But I still love the medals, so am going for the Strange New Worlds Star Trek medal first and adding to my 2026 total every day.

Frozen pizza without seed oils! Amazing crust, good amount of cheese.
This is the third version of a seed-oil frozen pizza I’ve tried and it’s definitely the best. 🥇
There was another Newman’s Own right beside this one that did have seed oils, so I almost didn’t pull this one out to check the ingredients.

Overachieved a bit today because walking while talking to my mom. 💙

This lovely green candle is a screenshot from the Pedometer++ app which I’ve been using since 2019 to record over 13 million steps.

Additional layers of stamping, alcohol ink, acrylic paint, penciled in constellations and theme (HIBERNATE) on the background, colored pencil on the pine branch, and a light splatter of white after everything was glued down.
Really like how painting the back of the tissue paper letters with gold calligraphy ink worked out. Used that same gold ink to add a star on the bear’s forehead.

“Flash fiction” is usually 500-1000 words, and a “Drabble” is 100 words, though those word counts can slide a bit depending who’s creating the guidelines.
300 words is my sweet spot and calling it “microfiction” gets the concept across the easiest.

My mom planted these around 20 years ago in my backyard. No matter what happens to them: mowing, covered with dirt from plumbing excavation, so many days without rain the earth cracks…. a few days after a heavy rain, they rise again.

Walked a mall yesterday to do some shopping. By end of day, I had almost 4,500 steps. 😯
Last time I did that many was the Vancouver airport in May …. and my foot seriously hurt the next day, and a bit of the day after that. 😭
Today, foot was a tiny bit sore, but I was able to do my foot exercises and my body workout without pain. 🎉
Slowly getting better, and very hopeful about 10,000 steps by December 2026.

GM! I think design can be taught and the more someone designs, the more they understand what “rules” to bend or break and when. Brand design often has requirements that need to be fulfilled which can make good design even more important.
Lovely- thanks for sharing. My mom gave several of my old oil paintings to the women’s auxiliary when she downsized her house. We did a fundraising walk a few months later and ended up talking with someone who took one of my paintings home from the charity shop! 😊 It’s wonderful when art passes on for others to enjoy.
