Hi nostr, we spent most of the day hanging out with the visiting fam, so i'm ready to get back to my regular chores and regular routine. The wife of the couple was saying how expensive their daughter's wedding was gonna be, mainly because its gonna be a "destination wedding". I honestly think that this kind of wedding is a huge imposition on family/friends who want to attend. I get that the couple want to have their wedding in a place that's special to them, but this puts a burden on everyone, mainly a financial burden, but also a time burden for those that have to take time off work to travel. I always thought that the honeymoon is for the couple to go celebrate wherever they want to go. Imo it's selfish of a couple to make others spend money for flights/hotels just to attend the wedding, often in another country. Ok, i'm done ranting.
