This is my current view at work. No parts have shown up. I already fixed a few odd pieces that needed some re-working before getting sent out for bead blasting, re-adjusted my cardboard shield (that keeps me from getting blasted when my neighbor is MIG welding in the next booth, and cleaned a bunch of stuff. So... I sit here and wait. I'm content, as I was up late finishing a book (Full Moon, the second book in The Dresden Files series), and dragged my carcass in to work (#worthit) expecting some kind of silliness, but... Catching a break like this is welcome.

GM from the fiat mine. Starting to think the smell of coolant or the artificial lights are what’s been giving me headaches every Monday. I feel great all weekend at home touching grass then a couple hours into Monday morning shift I start to get headaches and sore muscles in my neck and shoulders.

I hope that your Friday is starting off better than mine. These bent pieces are too wide to fit into the jig. The solution? Beat them with a hammer. 🙄😤

I'm not working OT today, so, I don't really need to worry about it too much for the rest of the day. I am just tired of dealing with dumb stuff like this. This is the less glamorous side of metal fabrication.

So i have made an observation about putting cardboard around newly planted trees. Last year we had a bunch of extra cardboard in the shed, and i had seen Billy Bond use cardboard around his trees at planting time, i think he said it was to keep the weeds from growing. I did this on 2 of my new trees, and i can see a difference in the amt of water they need, plus they just look more robust compared to the trees without cardboard. I simply spread the cardboard near the rootball, then threw some homemade compost on top. On the other trees, i left out the cardboard. Its only 2 trees so far, so cant say for sure, but i will do this for any tree i plant this fall, to see if it proves to be a good addition. In any case it cant hurt, and probably attracts more soil activity. Anyway, just an observation. #trees #permies #gardening #homesteading #cardboard
