I think there are some DM “apps” if you dig around

Have been told the built DMs in the mainstream clients are not the best because people can see who you communicate with by logging in as you with your npub

Also if your nsec gets compromised your DMs will too

However this nostr we are using, by forking/reproducing we would probably not get the content and need to start from scratch. And as long as we are using this nostr, fiatjaf can probably change the code?
