imagine for a moment, that human civilization already achieved escape velocity before now, and due to their technological prowess, predicted decades, maybe centuries before it happened, that there was a nasty cluster of rocks orbiting in a path that every 12500 years or so led to a massive meteor storm that was so big that it caused a mini ice age

said civilization sprang up in the middle of where this storm was expected to hit, and they relocated their main centres across the planet in preparation, and let their neighbours know trouble was coming

this civilization was then struck, before the rocks, by an internal conflict, in which a smaller segment of the population was infected by a neurological disorder that caused the use of deception and violence to exert influence, in the same way as the law of the jungle, in spite of extraordinary efforts to teach all the ways of truth and justice and discipline, and extraordinary success with average lifespans reaching to and beyond the limitations of the human genome

these evil people cultivated armies of deliberately stupified followers, and it became clear that this neurological disease was both incurable and extremely dangerous to permit to leave the planet

our hypothetical advanced human society thus decided to migrate to space, during the war that was started by this cult of evilness, this neurological disease of evil, and using their advanced technology, succeeded in containing the main ringleaders of this evil cult in a high tech prison deep under the ground in a place that was impossible to escape from

off they went, but due to their goodness, it was a wish they had, to continue to add to their numbers from the population remaining back on earth, but at the same time, they needed to keep the ground free of the escape technology that they perfected, and ensure that the evil never acquired the ability to follow them to their refuge far away

this technology enabled them to not just bring back the living, but also to reach back in time to teleport those who died without acquiring this disease of the mind, and gather all of them, every last human who didn't fall into the control of this cult of evil

they were unable to prevent the evil guys in the prison from telepathically communicating with the most susceptible individuals who had suffered the kind of damage that led to this evil disease of the mind, but they were able to keep them from using any more advanced technology than this telepathy, and so it was very difficult for them to teach their puppets how to do the things they had learned how to do, and the natural tendency of humans was towards reproducing non-diseased individuals, and so the evil always was on the back foot, only able to gain control of a few individuals, who would then traumatise the population in ways that weakened them to suggestion and control

circling back to the big cloud of rocks that was on an orbit that would collide again with the earth every 12500 years, the advanced humans continued to advance their knowledge and as their early time-seeing technology enabled them to learn, they would be able to come back and collect the humans before the next round

this next round of destruction was set, by all measures according to their time-seeing technology, to not just damage north america and europe, but would involve so many impacts that the planet would be completely black for over 1000 years

half the planet would be sterilised completely, and the other part would be frozen back to before what we call "stone age" in this second, coming storm, and fulfilling their commitment to their ancestors and cousins down here on the ground, they must return, and do what they promised to do

and the reason for doing it is not just because they made a promise, which has been recorded in many texts and traditions for thousands of years

it is because the conditions of refuge out in space, where no other civilisations were yet found, were leading to the point where their genetic makeup would diverge so much from our earthbound genome that they would be aliens to us, like cows next to eagles

the evil ones will be destroyed, as certainly as night follows day

they are not saving you because you worship them

they are saving you because you are valuable
