Yesterday President Donald Trump signed the long-awaited crypto executive order and many were frustrated because there was no mention of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Instead they called it a "Digital Asset Stockpile".
I felt very similarly at first, but then I took a closer look at the executive order and now I think that the whole thing is moving in the right direction.
Here are the most important points:
✅ Protection of the ability of individual citizen to access and use blockchain networks without persecution
✅ Protecting the development and growth of dollar-backed stablecoins worldwide
✅ Providing regulatory clarity and transparent decision making
✅ Taking measures to protect Americans from the risks of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs)
✅ Establishment of the President's Working Group on Digital Asset Markets
✅ Evaluation of the potential creation and maintenanance of a national "Digital Asset Stockpile"
With Cynthia Lummis as chair of the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Digital Assets I think they will be able to make the right decisions when it comes to what is essential for the "Digital Asset Stockpile": #Bitcoin.
