I keep wanting to try qubes but then get scared off due to it being so diff to the fedora/gnome environment I'm used to.
My laptop is a 16gb i7 so not sure how suitable it even is (LG Gram 17)
Different strokes for different folks.
Not everyone wants to use monero.
Just because monero exists doesn't mean those still dedicated to bitcoin shouldn't have the ability to maintain a level of privacy.
I use both monero & bitcoin and as a privacy advocate I always recommend monero for specific usecases where possible, but bitcoin is just more widely accepted & seperating sats from their previous history is no bad thing as far as I'm concerned.
What you got against us English LOL
I don't believe in animal testing but I'm happy to let this rabbit test the best btcpay alternatives & give me the thumbs up for which to use myself 😈
I literally installed LND & RTL for the first time last night. Not even had chance to wire it into my btcpay yet.
Still trying to figure out wtf im doing LOL
I finally found the time to install lnd & RTL last night. Will be looking into getting it alm configured later.
What are you using?
It's useful because your parent seed can be safely stored offline in steel and then any child seed index numbers and passphrases can be saved in your self hosted bitwarden instance without worrying up where and how to backup the mnemonic seed.
Great vid 💪🏼
Think I prefer board sellers to do it for me though, rather than trusting my rusty soldering skills. That way if shit hits the fan it's not my fault 🤣
Yes. Once you have backed up your parent seed and passphrase, any following child seed you generate doesn't need to be backed up. All you need to backup is the index number of the child and whether it's a 12 or 24 word phrase.
If you ever need to access a child you can simply use your parent seed backup and entering the correct index number will give you your child mnemonic.
It's far better than having dozens of mnemonic seed backups
Plus, if any child's are compromised it doesn't affect the parent in any way.
We will never be able to get rid of these toxic services unfortunately.
The best we can do is keep spreading warnings & information about onboarding directly onto KYC free platforms.
I typically onboard into normie friendly platforms like peach and once they get a bit more familiar into Agoradesk & Bisq.
Same here. At the same time as civilians were banned from leaving the country, and even there homes for a few weeks, we were allowing record numbers of illegals to enter without even having a passport or one of the vaccinations that they claimed were "essential". Complete and utter fuckwitedness.
Looking forward to checking this out too. Fantastic update.
So, should I install LND. Hmmmmm.
Guess it depends on the age but it's always good to get them out of the house for outdoor activities when possible. Kids spend to much time in front of screens these days sadly
