I’m not sure if there’s Julia at runtime or not. The websocket server is rust and all data I’ve seen so far is fetched from Postgres functions by rust. Julia seems to be used just for data crunching which is what it’s good at so not such an unusual choice.

On the “how to explain to devs point” I think by far the best approach that I’ve seen is having a clone of every social app that works almost as well as the original, which can all be installed and tested in like 15 minutes by the “intelligent dev”. It doesn’t really seem like bigger dev ecosystem is necessary to get there, but if it got there then tons of new people would show up imo.
