Can I build an iOS nostr signer app with this? https://developer.apple.com/documentation/authenticationservices/ascredentialproviderviewcontroller/providecredentialwithoutuserinteraction(for:)-3mo23
Feel similarly. I want something that's simpler and more fun to write than rust. I mostly like zig b/c I like the BDFL and bun + ghostty are extremely impressive projects. More impressive than any open source rust projects despite far smaller community.
Odin seems neat. Looks like creators are doing some really legit work in graphics with it. Will play with it. Thanks for mentioning.
Very good for learning. This is probably one of the reasons it makes me more thorough. I just keep asking questions until I get a good handle on the problem space.
People talk a lot about how AI tools make them write code faster.
I've been playing with these tools for the first time over the past ~2 weeks. I don't think they make me faster necessarily, but I solve problems far more thoroughly and ambitiously. I tend to get impatient and settle for "good enough". But when slave-driving an AI I don't mind over-killing problems like I normally would. Code is much more robust as a result ...
I don't think writing mobile UIs in Rust is appealing.
Apple and Google invested billions making great tooling to write the UIs. I'd rather handle all logic and state in rust, then have stateless SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose rendering courtesy of claude-3.7-sonnet-thinking
Men will literally write their iOS navigation stack into SQLite with Rust, rather than going to therapy

More architectures coming soon.
Pretty
It’s far simpler, compiles much faster, smaller ecosystem (but you can easily use any C libraries), not as memory safe. I think it’s more fun to write.
Also, bun and ghostty are imo more impressive than any open source rust projects so it’s producing really impressive software despite having relatively far fewer devs …
