Too many bitcoin companies focus on solving problems for bitcoiners and they wonder why things like lightning have little adoption.

Web3 / crypto sucks but they know how to market products way better than bitcoiners.

Apps built on open protocols don't have proprietary tech to leverage against competitors.

This is especially true for Nostr, as it is very easy to move between Nostr-based apps.

This means other factors such as user experience, marketing, business etc. become more crucial than pur technical improvements.

A catch is that most open-protocol apps are led by individuals who focus solely on the technology at the expense of these other factors.
